The trainers and class of trainees today all confirm that I am indeed a comic genius... I always find it odd when I meet new people and I almost always seem to have them in stitches... I write it off as a fluke- as it turns out, I'm just that clever. We learned all about customer service today, things I already know, and we went over the computer systems. Tomorrow begins my first day of actual nursing, following my mentor. I have to work of my confidence- "I will be brilliant"...

Today was the first day of my new career as an RN! It was an orientation day, full of signing my name over and over- I filled out paperwork on such topics as insurance, taxes, how not to sexually harass myself or others, and what to do if I accidentally set someone on fire. We also got our logins for the temperamental computer systems and I unknowingly changed my default pin number to that of a physician- this was only moments after being advised that someone was terminated for doing just that. Thankfully the trainer noticed before I had added any activity on the account... but it really made me wonder about the system security...
